T Bone Walker

T Bone Walker

The wonderful T-Bone Walker, Aaron Thibeaux Walker, ( May 28, 1910, Linden, Texas, of U.S. African-American and Cherokee descent. Passed away March 16, 1975, Los Angeles, California), This American musician and songwriter was a major figure in modern blues.

He was a pioneer of the electric blues guitar. He was a band leader, composer and played the piano, violin, banjo and mandolin. He was a professional performer by the age of 15.

His 1947 hit “Call It Stormy Monday” became one of the most enduring modern blues standards. He toured the Chitlin circuit and nightclubs and theatres throughout the United States until he suffered a stroke in 1974. His 1969 album Good Feelin’ won a Grammy Award for best traditional recording. I have captured him playing a Gibson Barney Kessel from the early 60's
