Saul Hudson (born 23 July 1965), better known as Slash, is an English-American musician, songwriter, and record producer. He is best known as the lead guitarist of the American hard rock band Guns N' Roses.

Saul Hudson was born in the Hampstead area of London on 23 July 1965 and spent some of his early years in Stoke on Trent.

In July 1987, Guns N' Roses released its debut album, Appetite for Destruction, which as of September 2008 has sold over 28 million copies worldwide.
Slash has received critical acclaim as a guitarist. In 2005, he was named "Best Guitarist" by Esquire

In 2007, Slash was honored with a star on the Rock Walk of Fame; his name was placed alongside Jimmy Page, Eddie Van Halen and Jimi Hendrix.
